Whether you’re already expecting your first child or just in the planning stage, there’s so much you’ll need to do to get ready. It’s never too early to prepare for a major life-changing event, and they don’t get much more life-changing than having your first kid.

And it’s never too early to look around for help and advice. Thanks to the internet, at least that’s a lot easier than it used to be. The web’s full of useful guides – like this one I found on an English site.

It’s called Financial Guide for New Parents and it gives new moms and dads a few good ideas, from getting the most from the benefits system to knowing your rights in the workplace as a parent. It also provides a few tips on saving for the future and learning how to budget more successfully – the kind of thing that’s useful for anyone, but particularly important for people who’re getting ready to cope with the extra responsibilities that come with parenthood.
